No. 14 Miami notches another top-25 win with 64-54 victory over rival FSU

After notching a pair of stunning upsets over top-five teams Notre Dame and Louisville in the span of 10 days, the Hurricanes women’s basketball team found itself in the national spotlight.

Miami rose to No. 14 in both major polls. Standouts Emese Hof and Beatrice Mompremier earned individual honors — and then the Hurricanes found themselves victims of a stunning loss themselves, falling on Thursday to an unranked Virginia Tech team eager to make headlines of its own.

It was amidst all of that that the Hurricanes returned home to Coral Gables on Sunday to face another upset-minded opponent, one they know well and have struggled against in the past — ACC and instate rival Florida State.
