New Miami Hurricanes defensive backs coach Travaris Robinson has specialized in blue-chip (four and five-star) signees throughout his coaching career. Robinson has been credited with signing three five-star players and 20 four-stars throughout his coaching career. Six of those 23 signees were from South Florida.
The Miami Hurricanes have missed on several high profile defensive backs from South Florida in recent years. The prevailing thought is that former Miami cornerbacks coach Mike Rumph was reassigned in the Hurricanes football program due to not being able to sign the blue-chip players at that position.
