Less than 12 hours after being named the new head coach at Miami, former Hurricanes defensive coordinator Manny Diaz made his first public comments as UM’s new coach to WQAM-560’s Joe Rose and the South Florida Sun Sentinel’s Dave Hyde.
Diaz, who led Miami’s defense for three seasons before briefly taking the head coaching job at Temple, was hired late Sunday night by UM athletic director Blake James.
