The addition of Houston graduate transfer quarterback D’Eriq King to the Miami football program earlier this week made it inevitable that one of the Hurricanes QBs was likely to jump the transfer portal. Jarren Williams announcing his intention to leave Coral Gables for another college football program was not surprising.
In two years in the Miami football program, Jarren Williams had a lot of ups and downs. Williams very nearly transferred from Miami on the eve of the Hurricanes 35-3 loss to Wisconsin in the Pinstripe Bowl in 2018. Twice removed Miami QB coach Jon Richt was reportedly the mediator to initiate Williams staying with the Hurricanes.
