GREENVILLE, SC — The Miami Hurricanes women’s basketball team, which had never reached an Elite Eight, saw its historic season end in the national quarterfinals when UM, beset by an 0-for-15 shooting performance from 3-point range, was handled 54-42 by LSU on Saturday night.

The Hurricanes, who had never won more than one game in any NCAA tournament, grabbed three victories in the event this year.

The Tigers, meanwhile, returned to the women’s Final Four for the first time in 15 years as Angel Reese had 13 points and 18 rebounds. LSU coach Kim Mulkey is in her second year at Baton Rouge after having won three national titles coaching at Baylor.
