Miami Hurricanes RB Asa Martin transfers likely due to backfield depth

Asa Martin’s addition to the Miami Hurricanes football program added to a deep running back corps in Coral Gables. Martin was scheduled to sit out the 2019 season after playing as a true freshman at Auburn in 2018. He originally signed with Miami as a transfer during the early signing period last December.

Martin signed eight days before Mark Richt announced he was resigning as head coach. The Miami Hurricanes were facing a crowded backfield in 2019 with Martin would become eligible.

Miami will have rising junior DeeJay Dallas and rising Sophomores Cam Davis and Lorenzo Lingard for 2019.
