Miami Hurricanes officially welcome new outside linebackers coach

The Miami Hurricanes officially announced the hiring of Texas A&M defensive analyst Ishmael Aristide as outside linebackers coach on Monday afternoon.

“We’re excited to welcome Ishmael to the Hurricanes program,” UM coach Manny Diaz said in a statement. “He is a sharp defensive mind and relentless recruiter who will be a great addition to our coaching staff.”

As Aristide joins the coaching staff as outside linebackers coach, fellow assistant Jonathan Patke will shift to coach inside linebacker, along with his role as special teams coordinator.

The move was first revealed by a Yahoo report Saturday afternoon.
