Redshirt freshman cornerback Chris Graves tweeted on Wednesday he is entering the transfer portal and leaving the Miami Hurricanes football program. Four-star 2024 safety Jaylen Heyward de-committed from Georgia on Tuesday and named Miami in his new top six, including the Bulldogs.
Graves signed with Miami in the 2022 class shortly after Mario Cristobal was hired as head coach. Secondary coach Jahmile Addae was hired after Graves signed. Transfer CBs Damari Brown, Jaden Davis and Jaidus Richard further pushed Graves down the depth chart. That could have led to Graves’ decision to transfer.
Heyward is the 79th prospect, fifth safety and 10th recruit in Florida in the 2024 class.
