According to Brad Kaaya in a post-game press conference after the Nebraska win, Badgley, during his freshman year, had said at some point he’d kick a winner against the Cornhuskers. And, that’s exactly what he did in overtime … splitting the uprights from 28-yards out.
“He (Badgley) said, one day I’m gonna make a game-winning kick against Nebraska, he told me,” said Kaaya. “…he wanted to do it last year, but that didn’t happen, but it came true though.
