The Miami Hurricanes were happy to sign Peyton Matocha. Miami was late in the recruiting cycle getting involved with Matocha and Maryland signee Lance Legendre. Matocha was only a two-star QB coming out of high school. The Houston product unquestionably forecasts as a project and likely 2019 redshirt.
With four-star QB Tyler VanDyke committed to the 2020 class it would be surprising for Matocha to be more than a career backup at Miami. Recruiting can be mercurial at times and players mature differently. The Hurricanes are set at QB for at least the next two years.
