Miami Hurricanes have talent but need depth to overcome Trajan Bandy loss

Trajan Bandy was the leader of an extremely young Miami Hurricanes secondary in 2019. Bandy was the only returning starter for the nation’s leading pass defense in 2018. Miami lost seniors, cornerback Michael Jackson and safeties Jaquan Johnson and Sheldrick Redwine following the 2018 season.

According to Pro Football Focus Miami, sophomore Al Blades was the Hurricanes’ best cornerback in 2019 followed by Bandy. Sophomore D.J. Ivey led Miami with three interceptions. Bandy paced the Miami secondary with eight pass breakups. With Bandy headed to the NFL, Blades and Ivey are the likely starters at CB in 2020.
