The news of Willis‘ absence comes amidst a tough week for the Miami Hurricanes football program. The Hurricanes lost Defensive Coordinator Manny Diaz yesterday to the Head Coaching position at Temple. The fallout from Diaz’s departure caused six Miami verbal commits to re-open their recruitment.
Willis was exceptional for Diaz and the Miami Hurricanes defense this season. He finished 14th nationally with 18 tackles for loss, finished fourth on the team and led the Miami defensive linemen with 59 tackles and added 4.0 sacks. In Willis absence, Freshman Nesta Jade Silvera and Sophomore Jon Ford are likely to share snaps.
