The Miami Hurricanes defense is near the top of the national rankings in several categories. They are second in total defense, third in pass defense, seventh in rushing yards allowed per game and per carry, tied third in sacks and first in tackles for loss by a wide margin.
Clemson is second in TFLs, third in total defense, fourth in rushing yards allowed per game, seventh in pass defense, second to the Hurricanes in tackles for loss and tied with Miami and five other teams in sacks.
At the beginning of the season, all four of Clemson’s starting defensive linemen were ranked in the top 32 players nationally.
