Miami Hurricanes CB Al Blades Jr. to miss remainder of season

On Tuesday evening, Miami Hurricanes CB Al Blades Jr. tweeted out that during a COVID-19 health check, he was found to have myocarditis, and will be out for the year.

Also known as inflammatory cardiomyopathy, Myocarditis is inflammation of the heart muscle. Symptoms can include shortness of breath, chest pain, decreased ability to exercise, and an irregular heartbeat.

Obviously, this is a serious medical issue, and Blades Jr. will undergo treatment to address it. Luckily, the COVID-19 bloodwork found the issue, and it’s able to be treated. In the above-embedded tweet, Blades Jr.
