Al Blades Jr was a stellar special teams performer for the Miami Hurricanes as a freshman. He was back up at cornerback behind sophomore Trajan Bandy and Senior Michael Jackson in 2018. Blades finished his freshman year with 13 tackles and one tackle for loss.
Blades comes from a legendary family of Miami football players. His father Al Blades and uncles Bennie and Brian Blades all played football at the U. Bennie was inducted into the University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame in 1998.
Blades is the favorite to start opposite Bandy at cornerback in 2019.
