While the college basketball season is still a few weeks away, the Miami Hurricanes have already begun to bring in honors for the 2015-16 season.
On Tuesday morning, redshirt senior Sheldon McClellan was named to the Jerry West Shooting Guard of the Year Award Watch List voted on by a national committee of top college basketball personnel.
Fellow ACC guards Grayson Allen (Duke), Dwayne Bacon (Florida St.) and Malcom Brogdon (Virginia) joined McClellan on the 20-man watch list.
The Texas transfer averaged 14.5 points and 4.7 rebounds per game in his first year in Coral Gables and was an integral part of leading the Canes to 25 wins last season.
