The number of transfers in today’s era of college basketball reaches the hundreds each year and in the 2016 crop of players on the move, former Duke point guard Derryck Thornton is one of the hottest commodities out there. As of Wednesday night, Jim Larranaga and the Miami Hurricanes are still in the hunt for his services.
After reports surfaced Tuesday that Miami’s head coach was visiting the 6’2” guard in Durham, NC., ESPN’s Jeff Borzello confirmed Wednesday that Thornton had trimmed his list of schools to four.
Duke transfer Derryck Thornton is down to USC, Washington, Miami and Kansas, his father confirms to ESPN.
