Miami Hurricanes backup receiver out for season with shoulder injury

Miami Hurricanes backup wide receiver Michael Redding III is out for the year after having season-ending shoulder surgery, UM coach Manny Diaz told reporters Monday afternoon.

Redding’s lone catch this year in the four games he played in came in UM’s season-opening loss against Alabama on Sept. 4. He had three receptions for 19 yards and one touchdown across seven games in 2020.

Redding joins safety Bubba Bolden (shoulder), running back Don Chaney Jr. (knee), center Corey Gaynor (knee), running back Cam’Ron Harris (knee), quarterback D’Eriq King (shoulder) and left guard Jalen Rivers (knee) as players who’ve been ruled out for the year with an injury they sustained during the season.
