Next season will be the time in three years that the Miami Hurricanes will play a non-conference game in November and the third time in the last four seasons that UM will play a game out of conference in the middle of the ACC schedule. The previous two times were against Notre Dame.
The Miami Hurricanes lost at Notre Dame in October 2016 and throttled the Fighting Irish in November 2017. Miami and FIU’s 2019 meeting will be the fourth between the schools. The previous three games between the crosstown rivals were home games for Miami.
The first two games between FIU and Miami were played at the Orange Bowl in 2006 and 2007.
