The Miami Hurricanes won their season opener 47-10 over North Carolina on Thursday night. Virginia Tech bounced back after they were upset at previous winless Old Dominion 49-35 last week. The Hokies pulled their own upset at undefeated, number 22, Duke 31-14. That was Duke’s ACC opener.
Virginia Tech now 2-0 in the ACC. The Hurricanes are second in the Coastal at 1-0, Virginia, Pittsburgh and North Carolina are 1-1, Duke is 0-1 and Georgia Tech 0-2.
Virginia has a 27-3 win over Louisville and a loss at NC State 35-21.
