Miami football safety Amari Carter ejected for targeting in third quarter

Amari Carter was ejected from the game in the third quarter after he broke up a pass intended for Virginia wide receiver Hasise Dubois in the end zone. If he doesn’t go for the big hit Dubois likely scored a touchdown. Carter will miss the first half of the Miami football game against Georgia Tech next week.

It appeared that Carter led with both his shoulder and his helmet. Carter tried to turn his body but it was not enough. Carter finished the night with two tackles. Redshirt senior Robert Knowles received the bulk of the playing time in place of Carter with starting safety Gurvan Hall and redshirt sophomore Bubba Bolden.
