After not initially being in the top 11 for four-star safety Sherrod Covil, the Miami football program has made a major move for the Chesapeake, Virginia Oscar Smith star. Covil is the 209th ranked player, 11th ranked safety and ninth-ranked player in Virginia in the Class of 2022. Miami will have to replace safety depth after the 2021 season.
Miami is one of four programs listed as warm via Covil’s 247 Sports Profile. Clemson, Notre Dame and Penn State are the other schools that Covid is reportedly strongly considering.
