The Miami Football program received its first commitment in the 2025 class from three-star quarterback Luke Nickel. Nickel announced his commitment via social media. The 247 Sports composite has Nickel as the 342nd-ranked prospect, 26th QB and 38th recruit in Georgia out of Alpharetta Milton.
Nickel chose the Miami football program over nearly a dozen schools that included ACC rivals, Boston College, Duke, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Pittsburgh and Virginia Tech according to 247 Sports Director Of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong. Miami offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson was the lead recruiter for Nickel.
Nickel is the second QB Dawson has secured for Miami since being hired this offseason.
