In a game that special teams played a huge factor, the Miami football team escaped Appalachian State with a 25-23 victory. A 43-yard field goal by freshman Andres Borregales with 2:04 remaining gave the Hurricanes their winning margin. That was one of three field goals by Borregales on the night.
Borreagales made a 38-yard field goal earlier in the fourth quarter and one from 27 in the second quarter. The second-quarter field goal came after a Cam’Ron Harris rushing touchdown was called back.
