Miami football depth chart no starting QB and Mark Pope 1st team WR

The indecision at least publically to name a starting quarterback is problematic. The Miami football coaching staff has had 26 days since the end of the regular season to decide who will start at quarterback. The only reason to not list a starting QB two hours before kickoff is to throw off Louisiana Tech.

The Miami football team enters the Independence Bowl against Louisiana Tech on Thursday with a lot of questions and a half dozen key players missing. Sophomore wide receiver Mark Pope will start in the slot at wide receiver ahead of junior Jeff Thomas who is sitting out the Independence Bowl to get ready for the NFL Draft.
