The addition of the second-best safety in the Class of 2020, four-star Avontae Williams from Deland, Florida has vaulted the Miami Football Category ’20 Class from 18th overall where they temporarily sat on Wednesday morning to 12th nationally. Williams choosing Miami over Florida shocked recruiting experts.
Williams was viewed as a near-lock to sign with the Gators. All 12 of the crystal ball projections on 247Sports had forecasted Williams to Gainesville. Williams is the highest-ranked player in the 2020 signing class for Miami. Miami will have four true freshmen safeties on the roster this fall.
