The Miami football team announced on Thursday they will host Brigham Young in 2026 and travel to Provo, Utah in 2028. The Hurricanes had a memorable home and home with the Cougars in 1988 and 1990. Miami defeated BYU 41-17 in 1988 but suffered a memorable 28-21 loss in Provo in 1990.
The 1990 win by BYU essentially began the successful Heisman Trophy campaign for Ty Detmer. Detmer was 38-54 for 406 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. Miami traveled out west as the defending National Champions.
