The Miami football team ranks sixth nationally in the “College football transfer portal 2023 rankings…with most Top247 departures” with five players. Florida, South Carolina and Texas also lost five top 247 transfers. Alabama tops nine teams with 11 top 247 players who transferred. Miami has the seventh-best transfer class.
Defensive lineman Darrell Jackson is the lone top-100 transfer the Miami football program lost. Jackson transferred to Florida State to be closer to home. Miami also lost safety Avantae Williams, quarterback Jake Garcia, interior offensive lineman Jakai Clark and offensive tackle John Campbell.
