Miami Football 2019: Patrick Joyner switch to LB helps depth

Patrick Joyner signed with the Miami football program as a defensive end out of South Dade in Homestead in 2018. Joyner was the 674th ranked player, the 39th weakside defensive end and the 104th player in Florida. Joyner will have an opportunity to showcase his skills at LB to potentially become a starter in 2020.

Joyner’s position switched was made because the Miami Hurricanes LB corps behind three-year starters Shaq Quarterman, Michael Pinckney and Zach McCloud is thin. Bradley Jennings, Waynmon Steed and DeAndre Wilder have all dealt with injuries.
