The win by the Miami basketball women over Louisville was their second in less than two weeks over a top-five team. The Hurricanes defeated Notre Dame at the Watsco Center on February 6. The win over the Cardinals earned the Miami Women’s Basketball team the NCAA Team of the Week.
The honor follows Miami center-forward Emese Hof being named ESPN’s Player of the Week. The accolades are paying off for the Hurricanes. The Miami women moved up from a four seed to a three seed in ESPN’s Women’s Bracketology.
The Miami women had to come back from 14 points down in the second quarter to earn the victory.
