Miami basketball women host Arizona State seeking first Sweet 16 since 1992

The Miami basketball women survived upset-minded Florida Gulf Coast in Friday night’s second round. The Hurricanes used an 11-0 run to pull away in the fourth quarter and then had to survive the Eagles whittling the lead to four with under 90 seconds left. It was Miami’s second first-round victory over FGCU in two years.

FIrst team All-ACC forward Beatrice Mompremier recorded her 25th double-double of the season with 21 points and ten rebounds to lead Miami in the victory. Emese Hof who joined Mompremier on the ACC first-team also had a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds.
