On the Miami basketball program show Hurricanes head coach Jim Larranaga told play-by-play announcer Joe Zagacki that redshirt sophomore forward Deng Gak was out for the season after season-ending surgery for a meniscus tear that he suffered in practice. Forward Keith Stone made his Miami debut Monday night.
Gak was providing 12 minutes off the bench for Larranaga and the Hurricanes averaging 1.9 points per game, 1.6 rebounds and it tied on Miami for fourth with four blocked shots. It is a devastating break for Gak who missed all but eight games during the 2018-19 season with an injury in the other knee.
