Miami basketball has poor defensive effort in win over Alabama A&M

The game plan for the Miami basketball team before the game was to keep Alabama A&M out of the paint. The Bulldogs shot 51.7 percent from the floor and outscored Miami 40-38 in the paint as the Hurricanes needed a 13-2 run to closeout an 88-74 victory. Miami was without head coach Jim Larranaga who was out with back spasms.

Chris Caputo was the interim head coach against Alabama A&M. The Hurricanes had a good game offensively but struggled on the defensive end. Miami shot 51.9 percent from the floor, made eight of their 19 three-point attempts and 22-30 from the free-throw line.
