Walker is the highest rated recruit in Miami basketball history. He will reportedly have surgery later this week at the UHealth Sports Medicine Institute.

Walker is the 14th ranked player in the class of 2017 according to the USA Today composite rankings. He scored seven points in the McDonald’s All-American game and won the MVP in the Jordan Brand Classic.

Miami Head Coach Jim Larranaga said this spring that he expects Walker and Sophomore Guard Bruce Brown to turn pro after the 2017-18 season.

Larranaga spoke about Walker’s injury:

“Lonnie suffered an injury in practice this morning…The timeframe for his return will be determined after the surgery.
