CORAL GABLES, Fla.– No. 12 Miami extended its winning streak to six straight games Friday night, trouncing visiting NYIT 26-0 in its series opener at Mark Light Field.

The Hurricanes (36-13) recorded 24 hits in the offensive barrage, plating multiple runs in each of the game’s first four innings, including five in the first and eight in the third.

“It was a wild and crazy game,” head coach Jim Morris said. “We played very well offensively and defensively, and we pitched well. It was a very complete game for us.
