After defeating Louisiana 8-5 in an elimination game on Sunday the Miami baseball team was eliminated 10-6 by Texas in the regional final in Coral Gables on Sunday. Texas handed Miami both of its regional losses with a 4-1 victory last night. Miami finished the season 42-21. Texas moves on to the Super Regional.
Miami got off to a good start versus Texas. Dominic Pitelli hit a three-run home run in the top of the second to give the Hurricanes a 3-0 lead. That lead lasted an inning and a half. Texas erupted for nine runs in the bottom of the third to seize a 9-3 lead.
