The loss to North Carolina cost the Miami baseball team a spot in the ACC Tournament semifinals on Saturday against Cinderella 12th seed Boston College. The Hurricanes will have to wait until Sunday night to find out of they will be hosting a regional in the NCAA Tournament in Coral Gables next weekend.
Miami got in the board in the first with three runs on five hits. Single runs in the second and third looked like the Hurricanes were going to be able to put North Carolina away. The Tar Heels chipped away with two runs in the fourth and one in the fifth.
