Miami moved to the top 10 in the Coaches Poll, and one spot out of the top 10 in the AP Poll on Saturday. The rankings bump comes after the Canes snapped FSU’s seven year winning streak in the in-state powers’ rivalry game.
Miami’s rankings were expected to be near the top 10 after the win on Saturday, and this ranking seems fair for Miami based on the season so far.
Georgia Tech, the Canes’ next opponent, received a large amount of votes in both polls, but remained unranked heading into Saturday’s game. Tech is a very solid opponent, and because of the triple-option scheme they run this presents as a very tough game for Miami to prepare for.
