When Nick Linder opted — during camp — to transfer from Miami, he left the Hurricanes offensive line in a bit of a lurch.
The unit had already lost veteran Danny Isidora to the NFL and Sunny Odogwu, who opted in May to transfer to UCLA.
Depth, suddenly, became a glaring issue.
But as one former Broward County star left Miami’s offensive line, another — freshman Corey Gaynor of Douglas High — may be coming into his own there.
“He’s mean as a snake. I love the kid,” Hurricanes offensive line coach Stacy Searels said of Gaynor.
