Miami head coach Mario Cristobal praised his running back after Miami's 42-7 rout of Stanford.
"Mark Fletcher again showed why he's such a great player and so important to this football team... You give him the carries necessary to get him going, and I think the entire tone and perspective of the game changes."
Fletcher delivered 106 rushing yards and a career-high three touchdowns — each in the third quarter — to break open a 7–7 game. It was a major statement from Miami who just came off a loss to Louisville. While it was only against Stanford, the Hurricanes clearly looked better and a lot more like the top-10 team that they are.
