Walker started 16 games as a Freshman for the Miami Hurricanes. After suffering an offseason team of the MCL in his knee, Walker played better in conference play than he did in non-conference play. He averaged 13.6 points per game and shot 36.1 percent from beyond the arc and 81 percent from the free throw line in ACC play.
Walker was also named to the All-Freshman team in addition to being named honorable mention All-ACC. Walker has earned his place on the All-Freshman team by being named the ACC Rookie of the Week three times. Only Duke’s Marvin Bagley was who named the ACC’s Player of the Year earned the honor more times this season.
