“It’s like 20 years of hard work that you put into it to play at the highest level,” said former Miami Dolphins cornerback Patrick Surtain, who was selected in the second round in 1998. “It’s just a special time. You’ve got your friends and family around. It’s just a situation where you fulfill a lifelong dream. When it finally comes to fruition, when you finally get that call, it’s pandemonium.
