Hurricanes’ young tight end has Brevin Jordan-like skill set and potential, according to Lashlee

With Brevin Jordan now on his way to the NFL draft and Will Mallory recovering from a shoulder procedure, spring practices have presented an expanded opportunity for young Miami Hurricanes tight ends.

Early enrollee Elijah Arroyo is a player that has exhibited some Jordan-like characteristics in his short time on Miami’s campus.

“A young guy that’s here early, Elijah Arroyo, we think has got a lot of promise,” Rhett Lashlee said of the 6-foot-4, 220-pound product from Frisco, Texas on 560-AM on Wednesday morning. “He’s a guy that, when you lose a playmaker like a Brevin Jordan, you can’t put anything like that on a freshman coming in, but when you talk about a skill set, Elijah’s a guy that we see down the road as a guy that has that kind of skill set.
