CORAL GABLES — Miami Hurricanes coach Jim Larrañaga has been known to give Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski a run for his money in his time leading UM. Monday night was another example.
Despite only having seven scholarship players available, Larrañaga managed his players’ minutes and his team hung tough in the final moments of a 77-75 victory at Watsco Center that aired on ESPN.
Miami (7-10, 3-9 ACC) snapped a four-game losing streak. Larrañaga got back in the win column against Krzyzewski. After starting his Miami tenure 5-3 against the legendary Blue Devils coach, Larrañaga had lost the previous four matchups.
