Hurricanes reportedly hire 2001 title-winner Kevin Beard as new WR coach

Mario Cristobal is bringing another former Hurricanes champion back to Coral Gables.

The Hurricanes are hiring Kevin Beard to be the team’s new wide receivers coach, according to multiple reports. Beard, who had been Toledo’s wide receivers coach the last four seasons, is a Miami alum who played for UM from 1999 to 2003.

Beard joins an overhauled offensive staff, led by new offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson. Running backs coach Tim Harris Jr. is also new to the Miami staff (though he is also a UM alum).

This will be Beard’s second stint on the Hurricanes’ coaching staff.
