Hurricanes’ quarterback question remains for season finale against Pittsburgh

As the Hurricanes prepare for their final game of the season, the player who will take the snaps at quarterback remains an open question.

Redshirt freshman Jake Garcia relieved true freshman Jacurri Brown during Miami’s (5-6, 3-4 ACC) blowout loss to Clemson, and former starter Tyler Van Dyke could be an option after missing most of Miami’s last four games due to a shoulder injury.

Hurricanes coach Mario Cristobal told WQAM on Monday that there was “a great chance” Van Dyke could return for the regular-season finale against Pittsburgh (7-4, 4-3 ACC), and he said that the redshirt sophomore’s desire to get back on the field was a testament to his fortitude.
