Each day begins the same for the Miami Hurricanes.
Before every practice, the the entire Hurricanes team meets with special teams coach Todd Hartley. It is Hartley's way of placing a strong emphasis on what many coaches refer to as the most important component.
"It's a big deal," linebacker Zach McCloud said. "We go through those meetings every single day. I don't know how many other teams meet on their special teams every single day. We go through the units just as seriously as we go through our individual positions."
The benefits of the Hurricanes' dedication to special teams were evident last week against Notre Dame.
