Hurricanes miss opportunities, fall to Texas A&M | Five takeaways

COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS — The Hurricanes had their chances on the national stage Saturday night. No. 13 Miami stuck with No. 24 Texas A&M in front of more than 107,245 people at a sold-out Kyle Field.

But miscues on offense and special teams doomed the Hurricanes in their first taste of the national limelight on Saturday, and Miami fell 17-9 in College Station, Texas.

After Miami forced a three-and-out, Texas A&M sent a punt to Tyrique Stevenson. The fourth-year junior cornerback tried to field in after a bounce, but the ball slipped through his hands. The Aggies recovered the botched punt, and three plays later, redshirt freshman running back LJ Johnson Jr.
