Jim Larrañaga has filled out his coaching staff.
The Hurricanes are hiring Charlotte assistant coach Kotie Kimbe to fill the same role at UM, sources told the Sun Sentinel on Saturday. CBS Sports reported Kimble’s hire first.
Kimble has been an assistant coach for the 49ers since the 2018-19 season. Under Kimble and head coach Ron Sanchez, Charlotte went 50-64, including a 17-14 season in 2021-22.
Kimble is also credited as being a strong recruiter. While he was on the 49ers staff, Charlotte had the top-ranked recruiting class in Conference USA in 2019 and 2020, according to 247Sports.
