The Miami Hurricanes scored a major commitment on the recruiting trail on Tuesday.
Four-star defensive lineman Collins Acheampong flipped his commitment from Michigan to Miami, giving the Hurricanes a major boost following a disappointing end to the season. Acheampong announced his commitment on his Twitter account.
Acheampong initially considered Miami before committing to Michigan in July. But the Hurricanes kept in touch and eventually got him to pick the more southerly “UM.”
Acheampong is rated a four-star prospect in 247Sports’ composite rankings. He is listed as the No. 14 athlete and the No. 221 prospect in the 2023 class.
